About the Northminster Website

valid css valid xhtml strict

The Northminster Presbyterian Church website is a custom, hand-coded site that adheres to open web standards. It is designed for accessibility, forward compatibility and speed. The code validates as XHTML 1.0 Strict, and uses CSS for layout and to separate content from presentation. The site is optimized for modern browsers employing web standards as defined by W3C and endorsed by the Web Standards Project.

Those using older browsers (prior to 5.0), mobile devices, and screen readers will be able to see unstyled content or partially styled content. All W3C standards compliant browsers with DOM, Javascript and CSS2 support should display this site properly.

For those still using Internet Explorer 6.0, be advised, this browser is ancient, has been superceeded by a somewhat better IE 7.0, and was not standards compliant even during it's time. Workarounds have been included in this site to compensate for many of IEs deficiencies, however, you should expect standards based sites to render less than optimally. Users of all older browsers are encouraged to download Firefox (excellent and free) or one of several other secure, standards compliant browsers.
