Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School isn’t just for kids! In this class, the adults study faith and film.
Vacation Bible School is a highlight of Northminster’s year. Held one August week in the evenings from Sunday through Thursday, VBS isn’t just for children, anymore. Every attendee is treated to a scrumptious meal, followed by programs organized by age bracket. A nursery is kept for the wee little ones, while children, teenagers, and adults enjoy learning in age appropriate groups. In 2006, the Vacation Bible School focused on Christ all around the world: Attendees ate various world cuisines, the children were exposed to the lives and beliefs of Christians all around the globe, and everyone was invited to participate in a mission project to help those in need. The middle and high schoolers had their own lesson schedule, which each year includes study, outdoor games, and assisting with the younger age groups. The adult class watched movies! Films such as “Spitfire Grill”, “The Green Mile”, and “Walk the Line” had much to say about what it means to be Christian. Every Vacation Bible School culminates in an energetic worship service and a meal that will leave you wanting next August to come right around the corner. Stay tuned to see where our Vacation Bible School adventures will take us in 2007!
